We have 2 Maine Coon kitties. Sebastian is getting up there in age, he’s 14 years old. And Sophia is about 7 years old. We rarely see Sophia because she’s scared of her shadow. But Sebastian is always around. And for an old cat he sure does like to play! He also likes to hide inside of blankets, boxes, bags or anything else that can cave like. The cat tunnel is perfect for him!
With three different tunnels all converging in the center it makes the perfect kitty hideaway. Sebastian loves laying in one of the arms of the tunnel and just chill. But when he’s feeling frisky he likes to jump through the center and dart out through one of the tunnels. He can spend a long time entertaining himself with the tunnels.
One of Sebastian’s favorite things to do is bat a ball or bell into the tunnel and then chase it. He has such a blast! I love watching him dart in and out of the cat tunnel. He looks like he is having a really good time. And it also reminds me of when he was a baby. When he was younger he would spend hours playing throughout our whole house. But now that he’s older he spends most of his days sleeping in the chair. He’s become somewhat of a slug bug. But when I take out his cat tunnel and lay it out in our living room his little head perks up. He just loves it!
When Sebastian is not using his tunnel I do put it away. Because there are three tunnels this toy takes up a fair amount of room. Taking down is snap! I just gather up each tunnel and tie it shut. When all three are collapsed it stores nicely on a bookshelf or even a drawer. When it’s time to take it out to play I just untie the tunnels and it instantly expands.
