My daughter and I have recently started taking road trips for the weekend about once a month. And one of the things I have noticed is dragging a lot of stuff with us is not fun for me! Since I am the only adult, I am the one who gets to carry, pack and unload all of our things. So when I was offered the opportunity to try out the dot & dot 1.25 oz travel bottles in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion I was happy to say yes. My hope was this would eliminate some of the items I had to bring with us. Full size hair care products can take up a fair amount of space and weigh a lot.
When the travel bottles arrived I was eager to take them out of the package and check them out. The first thing I noticed was a little suction cup on the back of each bottle. I thought that was genius! Now I can just stick them to the shower wall when I am using them and not worry about them taking up space on the tub.
I also noticed how flexible the plastic bottle was. It was going to be easy to squeeze out any products I would put in them. The cap is a flip top with a seal that will hold the product in until you squeeze it out. This helps to limit the possibility of leaks. But I would still put them in the handy plastic zipper bag that comes with the kit. While I am fairly confident these will not leak I am still not willing to take chances and have shampoo and conditioner all over our clothes when we arrive to our destination.
Another favorite feature of mine is the in the cap. There is a small cut out and it shows a label as to what you have filled the bottle with. The options to choose from are sun, shampoo, conditioner lotion, soap and 3 spaces you can fill in with your own options.
There are larger sizes in the travel bottles also available by dot & dot. I would use the 1.25 ounces size for a weekend trip. These are also great because if you wanted to take them in your carry on for a flight they meet the requirements. You would just have to put them a quart size bag. Overall I am very impressed with the quality of these travel bottles. They are extremely easy to fill as the top comes off and the opening is large. No problem filling these with shampoo, conditioner or whatever else you may think of.
