Kitchen scales can be wonderful to have around the house. If you are teaching someone to cook it can help them with measurements for recipes. If you are on a diet it can help you learn what a portion size is. Or if you have a little one it can help them learn about measurements. So when I was offered the chance to try out the Fraser Digital Kitchen Scale in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion I agreed.
When the Fraser scale arrived I did notice it was sorta small. That can be good or bad. Great for when it comes time to store it but bad if I want to wear a New York strip steak. However, there is a solution to the small surface. Simply place a plate on the scale and then zero out the weights. Then you weigh your meats. It’s also a great idea to use a plate when weighing meats to help eliminate cross contamination.
The Fraser scale is easy to use. With the digital display there is no guess work to what the weight is. You can weigh up to 11 pounds at a time on the scale. Now I do not know when you will ever find a recipe exceeding that weight, unless you are doing some major recipes that feed a small army. I appreciate that you can get the measurements in grams, kilograms, ounces or pounds depending what your needs are.
I really enjoyed trying out the Fraser scale. It made a nice addition to our kitchen.
