when I have cooked it long enough so I often leave it in a little too long leading to dry meat. No one wants to eat tough, over cooked, dried out chicken. When I was asked if I would like to try out the River Kitchen Digital Meat Thermometer in exchange for my honest and unbiased review I agreed. I was really hoping it would help me find the perfect time to remove the meat from the oven before it became over cooked.
When the River Kitchen digital meat thermometer arrived I notice the protective sleeve that it came with. I appreciated it. Now when I am storing the thermometer in the drawer it will stay clean and I don’t have to worry about it poking someone who is digging in the drawer. The digital display is large making the numbers easy to read.
I decided to cook a whole chicken to test out this thermometer. When the baking time was up I took the thermometer and checked the bird at the meatiest part. Within a few second I had a clear read out of what the internal temp was of my bird. Then I cross checked it against my notes. According to the temp the bird was done! Since I removed the chicken at the appropriate time it was moist and juicy. It really helped to improve my cooking abilities and gave me the confidence I needed to take the chicken out of the oven and not worry about it being undercooked.
