When the egg shaker arrived I noticed it was truly wood. Not a veneer or thin layer of wood but really made out of wood. All of our other noise shakers are plastic and they tend to fall apart after some aggressive children’s play. I was curious to see how the wooden egg shaker would hold to a play date with my nephews. And as luck would have it they were coming over later that day!
When the boys arrived I pretty much let them have free range with the egg shakers. All the kids played nicely with it, at first, then they started to get wild. The egg was being tossed back and forth, frequently being dropped. They turned on the radio and danced around the house like crazy kids hopped up on sugar while shaking the egg to the beat of the music. At the end of the day, all the kids were exhausted and the egg shaker was in perfect shape! It did not fall apart or break during that rough play.
The kids had a blast with the egg shaker. My only complaint is I would like to see a two pack option. My kids wanted to have one for each hand when they were dancing around the room.
