I am always looking for ways to be healthier and use more holistic approaches in my life. When I was offered the opportunity to try out goPure fractionated coconut oil in exchange for my honest and unbiased review I agreed. I have been using virgin coconut oil since my daughter was born 5 years ago so I was intrigued to find out what fractionated coconut oil is.
What is fractionated coconut oil? That was a big question for me.
Fractionated coconut oil is simply a fraction of the coconut oil. Fractionated coconut oil is typically used in beauty products and medical product. By altering the oil and removing all the long chain triglycerides the shelf life has been extended. Virgin coconut oil clumps if left too long. Fractionated will not.
How do I use this at home?
To cook with
To make my own massage lotion with essential oils
To make soaps or lotions with essential oils
These would be my uses for it.
One of my favorite things to do is add a little lavender to the oil and massage my daughter after a bath. I have been doing this since she was born. I took a baby massage class at the hospital and we’ve been doing it ever sense. It’s a great way to spend some time with her, work her muscles and check for lumps or bumps, moisturize her skin (especially in the winter) and the lavender helps relax her.
The goPure fractionated coconut oil was nice to work with. It was smooth and rich. Getting the lavender to blend with it was fairly simple. I just combined a few drops of lavender to the oil and shook. I do make this is a small plastic bottle I pick up in the travel section. I’ve always done this because virgin coconut oil clumps and clogs so I made it in small batches. But now that I have the fractionated coconut oil I’m thinking of getting a larger container. It’s a great coconut oil and we will definately be using it year round.
