I love spending time making homemade meals for my daughter. She’s at the age where I want to teach her how to cook and how to follow a recipe. One of the things you need to be successful in the kitchen are quality tools. If you are not working with quality tools it’s hard to produce good food and it can become more time consuming and difficult. When Orblue asked me if I would like to try out the professional pasty blender in exchange for an honest and unbiased review I agreed. My current blender was flimsy and difficult to use so I wasn’t using it and I was missing out on making some great recipes because of it.
When the blender arrived I noticed the difference between my old one and the professional one within seconds. The professional pastry blender has a nice weight to it, the blending pieces are strong and do not bend and the handle was comfortable to hold. Instantly I could see and feel the quality. I was eager to try it on some chocolate chip cookies. So I gathered my ingredients. Normally I would melt the butter but that leads to flat cookies. So I was pretty excited to try using the pasty blender to blend the butter in. When it was time to blend the butter and sugar my daughter was confused. She did not understand how I was going to get them to mix together without melting the butter. But once I showed her she was intrigued, she wanted to try it too. So I let her hold the pasty blender and I helped her blend some of the butter with the sugar. She had a blast. After our butter was blended it we pretty much followed the recipe as normal.
But there was a noticeable difference in my cookies. They were fluffy and puffy! Not melting the butter and using the pastry blender to mix it together really made a big difference. And it really was not that hard. Yes I did expend a little more energy but when I saw the end result it was all worth it.
