Instructions
The most time-consuming part of this whole recipe is juicing the lemons. I used about 5 large lemons to make this batch of lemonade. First, I rolled the lemons before I sliced them in two. Then I took my manual juicer and juiced the lemons into a large measuring cup. If you don't like pulp in your lemonade this is the step to strain it. Otherwise, pick out any seeds that may have gotten into the juice. Pour the 4 cups of ice-cold water, lemon juice, and sugar into a pitcher and stir. Do a little taste test to see if it's sweet enough. Depending on how tart your lemons are you may need less or more sugar. Add the ice and let chill in the fridge for about an hour. I think the lemonade tastes best if it's chilled for a few hours. I feel it just brings out the lemon more the longer it sits. However, you can make this and serve right away too. It's the perfect refreshing State Fair Lemonade. Tastes exactly like the lemonade we get every year at the Minnesota State Fair.
