5 Car Accessories Every Parent Needs for their Mazda CX

I remember when I got my very first SUV I was thrilled. I was beyond happy and couldn’t wait to go on our first road trip.  It was a huge difference from our mid-size sedan and I couldn’t get over the space.  I found myself looking for accessories that I could utilize in the car to help stay organized and clean. While the Mazda CX has some wonderful features like Apple car play, a Bose sound system with 10 speakers that will deliver premium sound quality and safety features like blind-spot monitoring I’ve compiled a list of items you may want to help keep the inside of your new Mazda CX looking like new.

Back Seat Covers

Mazda CX Back Seat CoverIf you travel with pets or children you are definitely going to want to invest in a waterproof cover for your backseat.  Even if you have the leather package you will still want to protect your seats. Car seats can really put some wear and tear on your seats. And dogs have nails that can scratch up your leather. So, having a sturdy, yet comfortable waterproof seat cover over your rear seats can really be a lifesaver.

And on those occasions that you will be having guests in your car you can quickly and easily remove the backseat cover. Your upholstery will look fresh just like the day you brought your Mazda CX home.  No one would ever guess Fido had been traveling in the backseat.

Cargo Liners

Mazda CX Cargo LinerI am huge on protecting the inside of my SUV so when I saw they had custom-fit cargo liners for the Mazda CX I knew I had to share.  This cargo cover will look like it was meant to be there. You’d never guess it was an aftermarket accessory. There are many reasons you’d want to use a cargo cover. Ever have groceries leak in your trunk or back seat? If they leak on the cargo cover you just take it out and clean it. But if it leaked in your cargo area and there was no cover you’d have to shampoo the upholstery and that can be difficult.

My German Shepherds love to come to work with me so I put them in the cargo area. And my cargo area gets messy from muddy paws, sand they track in or even just them. Having a cargo cover makes it much easier to clean.

Cargo Barrier

I know from personal experience having a cargo barrier is a must if you fill your cargo area full to the ceiling. When Peyton and I go camping we put everything in the cargo area, from the cooler to the tent to all our supplies we need. That means it’s filled up to the ceiling. If I have to make a hard break or quick turn all that can shift and come flying forwards, that’s not safe. That’s extremely dangerous. A cargo barrier will help keep everything in the cargo area where it belongs and not flying through the car if you need to make a sudden stop.

Cargo Barriers are also great to have installed if you travel with pets. This keeps them in the cargo area and not wandering around the car. It’s safer for everyone.

Center Console Armrest Pillow

This one is for the driver, the center console armrest pillow. I always rest my arm on the center console when I’m driving. It’s a habit. But when we are on road trips my elbow can get sore from leaning on it for hours on end. This center console armrest pillow has memory foam to help cradle your arm and avoid discomfort.  It takes just a few moments to install it, simply place the pillow over your console armrest and wrap the straps around and you’re done. It’s that easy! The added comfort is so worth it!

Cup Holder Coasters

I spend a lot of time in my SUV every day so I usually have a beverage with me. But one of my biggest pet peeves is when I go through a drive-thru and they hand me a drink that has soda or tea running down the side. It drives me nuts because I know that is going to pool in my cup holder and leave a sticky mess that is a nightmare to cleanout. But with these cup holder coasters clean up just got easier.  When it’s time to clean out your cup holders just pop out the coasters and toss them in a sink of hot soapy water, wash them and let them dry. No more bending over and trying to scrub that little cup holder at awkward angels no more!

Cup holder coasters come in a large variety too. You can get ones with turtles or other scenic views on them. But the basic black will blend right in with your interior and no one will be the wiser.
