Circus Abyssinia: Tulu

This past weekend Peyton and I had the pleasure to see Circus Abyssinia: Tulu at the Minnesota Children's Theatre Company.  It was a great way to kick off the 2022-2023 Children's Theatre Company season! What is Circus Abyssinia: Tulu? Circus Abyssinia has performed at the Children's Theatre Company before and they were originally scheduled to perform when COVID-19 hit. This is a long-awaited visit from Circus Abyssinia. Created by Bibi Tesfamariam and Bichu Shimellis, Circus Abyssinia is a ...

Circus Abyssinia: Ethiopian Dreams at the Children’s Theatre

If you've been following us on social media this past year you know Peyton and I love to take in live shows. Peyton also likes to perform in local theatre productions and has been in The Jungle Book Jr and The Little Mermaid Jr this past year. Living in the Twin Cities area we are fortunate with all the amazing theatre opportunities around us.  One of my favorite places I like to take Peyton is the Minneapolis Children's Theatre. Their shows are perfect for children. They are shorter, with ...

Minnesota Children’s Theatre: The Grinch that Stole Christmas

The Grinch that Stole Christmas

The Grinch is back! The Minnesota Children's Theatre is doing it again this year, they are putting on a production of Dr. Suess's The Grinch that Stole Christmas. This is one of Peyton's absolute favorite stories of all time. She was obsessed with the Grinch when she was younger. The last time I took her to see this production she got all decked out in a The Grinch the Stole Christmas dress and necklace! She was Grinched from head to toe. Unfortunately, she's grown out of her dress but she ...

I Come From Arizona – A Children’s Theatre Production

I Come From Arizona

This past weekend Peyton and I took in I Come From Arizona at the Children's Theatre in Minneapolis. I knew a little bit about the production and I was eager to see this with Peyton as I thought it would bring up some very good talking points and be a chance to teach her empathy for others as well as talk about the challenging times' immigrants are facing here, in the US, right now. The main focus of the play is Gabi Castillo, a precocious Mexican-American from the South Side Chicago.  Based ...

Shopkins Live!

Shopkins Live!

Last night Peyton and I had the pleasure of attending Shopkins Live! When I told Peyton we had tickets to see the show I thought she was going to burst. I had no clue she would be this excited. But when I looked around last night I saw a lot of little girls that were so excited and thrilled to be at the show that they couldn't sit still. The air was filled with excitement and high energy at this show! When the show started we met Jessicake! You should have heard all the little girls squeal! ...
