Last week I hit up the Twin Cities Auto Show and got to see all the new vehicles that are coming out. I spent a lot of time in the Toyota area checking out everything Toyota has coming out soon. And the spotlight was all over the new Toyota Avalon that will be available this spring at Thompson Toyota.
2019 Toyota Avalon
Toyota is pretty excited for the Avalon to hit the floors in a few months. The one I saw on display was a prototype so we didn’t get to see inside of it but it sure looked amazing from the outside! This is the first major makeover the Avalon has had and you’re going to want to see the changes.
The first thing you will notice is the appearance of the Avalon is different for 2019, Avalon’s exterior will be longer, lower, and wider than before. The rear cabin is also extended an additional 7-inches giving those passengers much more room! The standard Avalon will come in four different trims: the XLE, Touring, XSE, and Limited. Toyota also offers the Avalon in a hybrid configuration. Hybrid trims include the XLE, Limited, and XSE.
The interior has some big changes too! The Avalon cabin remains consistent, with premium, soft-touch materials. You can choose between aluminum, leather, or wood trim. Inside the center console, there’s a wireless device charger, three USB ports, and a 12-volt plug. There are also two additional USB ports for rear-seat passengers. No more arguing over the outlets to charge phones or iPads! I know that’s a battle in our house.
The Avalon is equipped with a 7-inch digital driver information cluster and a 9-inch touch-screen infotainment system that’s operated by simple pinching and swiping gestures. It will feature Amazon Alexa-enabled voice connectivity with Google/Android smartwatches. You’ll be able to perform convenient functions like starting the car, locking and unlocking the doors, and checking the fuel level via your smartwatch.
There’s a lot of great changes in the new Avalon. It’ll be arriving in showrooms in late spring of 2019. Be sure to connect with the staff at Thompson Toyota so you’ll be the first to know when it arrives.
