Do you have a little one obsessed with big trucks or construction machines? I remember when Peyton was little her face would lite up every time we passed a construction site. It was a bonus if we were stuck in traffic and she was able to peer through the windows and watch the men work. In Digger to the Rescue, we meet Bear and get to follow him while he works with a digger all day.
We first see Bear arriving at work. Bear works construction so his workplace is a construction site! Digger was already at the site, waiting for Bear to arrive. Today, Bear and Digger will be working on building an adventure playground. I think it sounds pretty neat! We watch as Bear puts Digger’s stabilizer bars out while he digs. This helps keep Digger from falling over. Digger has a very important job, he needs to dig the hole so the foundation of the park can be poured.
While Bear and Digger are working, Bear’s phone rings. It’s the children from the school. They have spotted a cat stuck in a tree and are hoping that Bear and Digger can come over and help get the cat down. So Bear drives Digger over to the tree where the cat is stuck. Ever so carefully he raises Digger’s basket towards the cat. When it’s close enough the cat jumps in the basket and Bear lowers the basket to the ground. That cat jumps out the second the basket is on the ground.
At the end of the day, Bear takes Digger back to the job site. Since they spent the day digging in the mud Digger is pretty muddy. Before Bear goes home for the night he takes some time and washes all the mud off Digger. Then he drives Digger back to the construction yard and parks him. The day is over and now Bear can go home.
