Easy Dinosaur Bento Box Lunch Kids Will Love

Easy Dinosaur Bento Box Lunch Kids Will Love

If you have a dinosaur-loving child, this fun dinosaur bento box is guaranteed to make lunchtime exciting! A simple turkey and cheese sandwich becomes an adventure with the help of a dinosaur-shaped sandwich cutter, and the rest of the lunch is filled with kid-friendly favorites that create a balanced meal.

The best part? It only takes about 10 minutes to pack, making it a fun lunch that’s still realistic for busy school mornings.

Dinosaur Turkey & Cheese Sandwiches

The highlight of today’s lunch is a pair of dinosaur-shaped turkey and cheese sandwiches.

I used whole wheat bread, thinly sliced turkey breast, and Colby Jack cheese before cutting everything into fun dinosaur shapes. One of Peyton’s favorite dinosaurs is Littlefoot from The Land Before Time, so these sandwiches were an instant hit.

You can easily customize these sandwiches using:

  • Turkey
  • Ham
  • Roast beef
  • Chicken
  • Peanut butter & jelly (if allowed at school)
  • SunButter & jelly for nut-free schools

Any favorite sandwich filling works with dinosaur cookie cutters.

Fresh Strawberries

Fresh strawberries add a bright pop of color and natural sweetness to this lunch.

We had recently gone strawberry picking, so they were the perfect seasonal addition. I packed them without the extra juice to keep everything neat inside the lunchbox.

Other fruits that work well include:

  • Grapes
  • Blueberries
  • Raspberries
  • Mandarin oranges
  • Apple slices

Strawberry Yogurt

Creamy strawberry yogurt pairs perfectly with fresh strawberries.

It also doubles as a delicious fruit dip, making healthy eating a little more fun for kids.

Other yogurt flavors to try include:

  • Vanilla
  • Mixed berry
  • Peach
  • Raspberry
  • Banana

Babybel Cheese

A Babybel cheese makes an easy source of protein and calcium.

Kids love unwrapping the wax coating themselves, which makes lunchtime a little more interactive.

Other cheese options include:

  • Cheese cubes
  • String cheese
  • Colby Jack slices
  • Cheddar cubes
  • Mozzarella pearls

Goldfish Crackers

A handful of Goldfish crackers adds the perfect crunchy side.

The fun fish shapes fit right in with this playful lunch and pair well with the Babybel cheese.

Other crunchy snack ideas include:

  • Pretzels
  • Cheese crackers
  • Veggie straws
  • Popcorn
  • Mini rice crackers
