Oh my goodness! Peyton is super excited about Disney’s Zombies being released on DVD. When Peyton first saw the teaser for Zombies, while watching Bunk’d, she begged me to set the DVR and record it. So I did, I set the DVR for a month out to record the Zombies premiere and then listened to Peyton ask me every Friday if today was the day Zombies would be on. And when the day finally arrived, you know what happened? She forgot! This kid had been begging, for over a month, about watching the premiere and then the day of it slipped her mind. Lucky for her I remembered!
On the big premiere day, I picked up Chinese takeout from our favorite little place and we headed home to settle in and watch Zombies. And it was awesome! It’s fun, filled with music and has a light but educational lesson to learn that fits with what wrong in today’s climate.
I felt there was a lesson in teaching us to be more understanding of those that are different than us. That is a lesson that we could all take to heart. With the segregation of Zombies from the rest of the population, it reminded me strongly of how we treated African American students at one time. Learning from histories mistakes and talking about it with future generations will hopefully help us never repeat that horrible period in history.
For the most part, Zombies is a fun, light-hearted movie that is perfect for the kiddos. Peyton has watched it over a dozen times. It’s one of her go to shows to watch on our DVR. But now, she can bring it with her in the car! Disney’s Zombies was released on DVD today, everywhere. It’s also available digitally too.
Disney Zombies is a musical filled with lots of dance numbers that are sure to get your little one bopping along while also teaching a valuable lesson about giving others that look different than us a chance, to be kind and treat them as how you would like to be treated.
