Going to the movies in 2021 is so much different. Now we watch new releases from the comfort of our homes with our loved ones. Recently, Peyton and I had the pleasure of screening Dolphin Island. I love it when we can watch a movie that is family-friendly and we both enjoy it.
Dolphin Island is a movie that leaves you with warm fuzzies. It’s wholesome, the whole family from grandma to the littles can watch and enjoy. There’s a villain, the lawyer, and a hero, the social worker. Well actually two heroes, Mitzy the dolphin really saves the day.
There are several lessons to be learned throughout Dolphin Island that all steam from forgiveness, courage, and faith. There is even a discussion guide you can download and use it while discussing the movie with your children.
Here’s the official synopsis of Dolphin Island –
After losing her parents, 14-year-old Annabel lives with her fisherman grandfather on an island paradise. She is surrounded by an extended family of loving but quirky neighbors and her best friend – a dolphin named Mitzy. Everything changes when her maternal grandparents arrive with a shifty lawyer to bring her back to New York. It’s up to Annabel and her friends to figure out how to save the day and prove that love conquers all!
If you are looking for a movie that is more than entertainment, that has teaching within it and can lead to discussions with your family, Dolphin Island is what you are looking for.
