The holidays are here and life is getting increasingly crazy by the day. But we still get our 20 minutes of reading in each and every night. Some nights are a struggle, especially if the books are not something that interest Peyton. But that’s where National Geographic comes in. National Geographic has a National Geographic Kids line that is full of books that will grab young minds and keep them entertained for hours. We have been enjoying a few National Geographic Kids and National Geographic books this holiday season.
Let’s Play! Collection by National Geographic Kids
Let’s Play! is a collection of 4 books geared towards those children that love books but cannot read, just yet. It’s considered the Pre-reader group. Jump, Pup!, Play, Kitty!, Peek, Otter! and Go, Cub! are the four books you’ll find in this collection.
Each page is filled with bright, colorful pictures of baby animals! This book will help get your little one excited about learning to read and about spending time every night with books.
Hey, Baby! by National Geographic Kids
Peyton has been eager to get her hands on this book. She saw it a few weeks ago when we were at a Mom’s Meet Conference in Chicago and has been asking for it ever since. Hey, Baby! is filled with baby animals and some even have mama with them! It’s filled with fun facts about each animal like where they grow up (live), what they snack on (eat), plus information on each baby’s childhood.
With baby animals from all over the world being featured in Hey, Baby! your child will be asking for this book every single night. There are over 175 pages filled with baby animal information! And there are even some adorable tales like Why Whales Don’t Live in Lakes.
1,001 Ways to Slow Down by Barbara Ann Kipfer
National Geographic even has books for us parents! And I really like this book, it helps remind me to take time and slow down. Life is crazy, we are running from one place to another, trying to accomplish everything we need to do. Sometimes, we lose track of what’s important and get wrapped up in the hustle and bustle. 1,001 Ways to Slow down is full of suggestions to get you to take those moments and slow down.
One of my favorite suggestions is 675 – Stroll down a city street during Christmas season and admire the department store windows decked out for the holidays. Well, I live in Minnesota and it’s barely in the teens so strolling down the street is not likely for me. But I can head to the Mall of America and leisurely walk through the mall and take in all the holiday decorations.
National Geographic creates books the whole family can enjoy. No matter your age, National Geographic has a book that can help you spend more time reading and spending time together as a family.
