Here’s our second recipe to celebrate the release of Frozen 2 to Blu-Ray this week! Frozen 2 pretzel rods are sure to be a hit. The combination of chocolate and salty pretzel is a crowd-pleaser. Plus, they are very easy to make and only take a few minutes. You can make as many as you like. Today, we made a dozen but I could have easily made another dozen with the chocolate I had leftover.
To make your own Frozen 2 pretzel rods you will need the following –
Pretzel Rods
Blue Chocolate Melting Wafers
Purple Chocolate Melting Wafers
White Chocolate Melting Wafers
Blue Mix Jimmies
Wax Paper
3 Tall Glasses or Chocolate Wells
Pretzel Wrappers
Sandwich Baggies
First, layout your wax paper with the wax side up. This is going to be your workspace.
Next, take a glass and fill it with one of the colors. Melt it in the microwave in 30-second intervals, be sure to stir it in between each 30-second melt. it will probably take 3-6 30-second sessions to melt the chocolate. You’ll know it’s melted when it is smooth.
Dip a pretzel rod into the melted chocolate about 3/4 of the way. Shake off any excess chocolate and place on the wax paper to harden.
Repeat this with the other 2 colors.
I did 4 of each color so I could do a little variation on the pretzel rods.
Take a large handful of chocolate wafers and place them in a plastic baggie. Melt in 30-second intervals, kneading the bag in between sessions, until the chocolate is melted.
Snip a corner off the edge of the baggie, drizzle the melted chocolate over the pretzel rods that are not the same color.
Repeat with the other 2 colors.
While the chocolate is setting up, sprinkle the jimmies on them.
Let the chocolate set and you can either display them and let people grab what they want. Or you can wrap them in individual wrappers to keep them fresh.
