Get Creative with Make It Real: Knot and Bling Mermaid Tail

I received one or more of the products or services mentioned above for free in the hope I would mention it on my blog. Regardless, I only recommend products or services and believe will be good for my readers. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's 16 CFR, Part 255: "Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising."What little girl doesn’t love mermaids? One of Peyton’s favorite movies is The Little Mermaid. She loves it so much that the last time we were at Disney World we stayed in The Little Mermaid rooms at Art of Animation. Now, thanks to Make It Real Peyton can make her very own Knot and Bling Mermaid Tail at home!

This is suggested for ages 8 years old +. Peyton is 7 1/2 years old so I’m feeling pretty confident she can do this craft. Plus she LOVES to craft. So, depending on your child’s motor skills you may be able to utilize this kit, with supervision, with a younger child.

Inside the kit, you’ll find the following –

1 large blue pieces of fabric

2 smaller blue pieces of fabric

3 purple pieces of fabric

A little packet with the needle, thread, and sequins

Directions

Make It Real Mermaid TailThe first thing I noticed was the fabric was precut! I was so excited about this. I’ve made several knotted blankets and my least favorite part is having to cut all the strips. It’s tedious, time-consuming and can cause your hand to cramp! But that’s not a concern with Make It Real. They do all the cutting for you!

Peyton found the directions very easy to follow. They were so easy that she barely looked at them! It’s fairly intuitive as to what you need to do.

Mermaid Tail by Make it RealPeyton laid out her fabric and started tying her knots! It does take a while. In fact, she’s still working on it. But she’s loving it! It should keep her busy for the rest of the evening.

When Peyton is done tying all her knots I will help her sew on her sequins. That’s the one piece I’m not sure if she can handle. I would like her to try after watching me do one but she’s a little nervous so we’ll have to wait and see if I can convince her to give it a try.

I really like the Make It Real Knot and Bling Mermaid Tail kit. Everything you need comes in the kit, the fabric is precut, the directions are easy to follow and it keeps your child busy for a while.

If you are looking for a gift idea or a craft project for your little one consider Make It Real. They have several projects and kits that will provide hours of creative fun for your child.
