I have been a fan of The Grinch for a very long time. When Peyton and I went to Universal Orlando last year that was one of my favorite places to visit, the Grinch area. They had a whole store full of all things Grinch. And I did end up spending a little there too. What Grinch fan could resist? Well, I’ve passed that love of The Grinch on to Peyton. She loves him too. There was one Christmas I even had a one of a kind Grinch dress made for my darling that she wore when we went to see The Grinch that Stole Christmas at the theatre. So today I decided we were going to make some Grinch Hot Cocoa inspired by our love of The Grinch.
This cocoa is yummy! But also full of lots of sugar, so if you have someone sensitive to sugar this is not the drink for them. But if you love all things chocolate and sugar this is definitely the drink for you!
Here’s what you’ll need –
4 Cup Milk (I used whole milk)
1 Cup White Chocolate Morsels
1/2 Cup Green Chocolate Melting Wafers
1 Tsp Vanilla Extract
Whipped Cream
Green Sugar
Candy Hearts
This is a super simple recipe. Place the milk, white chocolate, and green chocolate melting wafers in a pan over medium to low heat. You will need to stir frequently to avoid any scorching on the bottom of the pan. Do not boil. Once the chocolate is dissolved add in vanilla extract. Bring to the desired temperature.
While the milk is warming up, take some more green melting wafers and heat them in the microwave in 20-30 second intervals until melted. Dip your cup upside down in the chocolate then dip it in the green sugar. You can also take a little chocolate in a plastic bag and drizzle in the inside of the cup. Place a few red hearts on the rim too.
Once the cocoa is at your desired temperature, pour into the prepared glasses. Top with whipped cream, sprinkle with green sugar and red candy hearts. Serve immediately.
This is a super fun and quick cocoa recipe that is sure to be a crowd pleaser.
