Many of you know I come from a military family. We have family in the Air Force, Navy, and Army. When this article came across my inbox I knew I wanted to share it with all of you. It’s of a local man, from St. Paul, Petty Officer 3rd Class Christopher English. In my opinion, anyone who serves our country is a hero. Every man and woman that serves protects our freedom and our country, no matter how small the task, without it being completed our military could not be successful.
Petty Officer 3rd Class Christopher English serves on land, he’s not your typical sailor. He’s not on the sea and he seems to be fine with it. Petty Officer 3rd Class Christopher English is a gas turbine systems technician (electrical) with the group operating out of Virginia Beach, Virginia. What does that mean? A Navy gas turbine systems technician (electrical) is responsible for the electrical components of Navy propulsion systems. So without him and his team, our Navy fleet would not be going anywhere.
But what makes this story near and dear to my heart is that Petty Officer 3rd Class Christopher English is from my hometown, St. Paul, Minnesota. He attributes his success in the Navy to our hometown. St. Paul is a grounded community built on hard work, honesty, and values. We believe in doing the right thing. Those are things I try to instill in my daughter every day. Petty Officer 3rd Class Christopher English has taken those values to heart and has served his country by doing what he believes is the right thing day in and day out.
