The Ice Castles are Now Open in Stillwater!

Last year, I took the family and extended family out to the Ice Castles in Stillwater, Minnesota. With our crazy weather, it wasn’t open that long so I’m glad we were able to take all the kids and go.  Besides being an absolutely beautiful experience it is also a freezing cold experience! Last year, it was so cold the night we went that we didn’t stay long but what little time we did have before it became too cold was amazing and rememberable.

The kids loved running through the tunnels, sliding down slides made of ice and exploring kid-size ice caves. They could’ve played and played if I’d let them. They had so much fun!

Well, the Ice Castles are back in Stillwater, Minnesota again this year! They just opened last week. But I’m waiting until this weekend to go. It’s supposed to be the high 20s maybe even low 30s this weekend! And with warmer temps means melting ice so I’d suggest getting out there and seeing it sooner rather than later. Plus with the crowds rolling in for the Super Bowl in the next week or so it’s going to become more crowded.

Even on the most crowded days, it won’t be that bad inside the Ice Castle, since all the tickets are prepurchased with time stamps they do a wonderful job at controlling how many people are inside at one time!

But now on to some info – Here’s the nitty-gritty of what you need to know so you can take your family and enjoy the Ice Castles while also saving a few dollars.
