Who doesn’t love a little chocolate? Earlier this year, 7th Street Confections came out with dark chocolate thins, mixed with fruit that are the perfect way to end the day. They come in 4 tasty varieties – Strawberry, Pineapple & Toasted Coconut, Blueberry & Almond, and Raspberry & Quinoa.
7th Street Confections is part of Pearson’s Candy Company, a company that has been around for over 100 years. Pearson’s was started back in 1909 by P. Edward Pearson and his 2 brothers – John Albert and Oscar. And did I mention, they are from Minnesota! It’s a hometown company that I grew up with and is a household name around these parts.
In 1912, Pearson’s Candy Company debut the Nut Goodie Bar, it was touted as the premium 5-cent candy bar and was a huge success. To this day, the Nut Goodie Bar is a staple in Minnesotan’s vocabulary and it is given out at the Governor’s mansion every Halloween. In 1933, Pearson’s released the Salted Nut Roll, another Minnesota favorite. Over the years, Pearson’s Candy Company has given us many of our favorite candy bars.
Pearson’s Candy Company has also provided many jobs for the Minnesota community. They’ve had factories in Minneapolis, Down Town St Paul and currently reside in St. Paul. Pearson’s Candy Company is a household name a brand known for its quality and heritage.
In 2016, Pearson’s created 7th Street Confections for candies like these dark chocolate things. They are more than chocolate with a focus on health. Each dark chocolate thin is made with 54% Caco Dark Chocolate and freeze-dried fruit. It’s a unique taste experience that consumers want, so Pearson’s found a way to give it to them.
The new, better-for-you snacks are GMO-free and only use the highest quality ingredients to bring the most nutrients and nutritional benefits it can.
I’ve tried the 7th Street Confections and I must say they are tasty! Yes, it is different than indulging in a Nut Goodie and if you are looking for that level of indulgence than I suggest you pick up the Nut Goodie. But if you are looking for a healthier alternative then pick up the dark chocolate thins. They have a crisp break but instantly turn into a smooth dark chocolate indulgence with little pockets of fruity flavor. My favorite is the strawberry, it’s the perfect balance of dark chocolate and sweet strawberries.
With the holidays here, these would go perfectly on a dessert table or even next to the coffee bar for a little after dinner treat! You can find 7th Street Confections at your local retailer, for a complete list check out the website.
