Every weekend I look for food trucks that will be in our local area. Since the Minnesota State Fair was canceled and we can’t really travel much, finding and trying out new food trucks every weekend has kinda become our thing. I’ve seen Kona Ice of Stillwater posts in our local mom’s groups and I have been eager to try it out. When I saw that it was going to be in downtown Stillwater today I knew that was the food truck Peyton and I were going to check out this weekend.
I knew what time Kona Ice of Stillwater would be out today because I checked out the Kona Ice of Stillwater Facebook page. They will post there where they are going to be and the hours they are open. They do move around so you’ll want to like and follow their page so you can get updates as to where they will be.
If you’ve never had Kona Ice, you are missing out on a cool refreshing treat. Kona Ice is a gourmet shaved ice treat with one of a kind flavors. Today, Peyton and I enjoyed the Pineapple Sunrise and Lavender Lemonade shaved ice. Both of these were a hit with us. Peyton and I actually traded flavors halfway through so we could each enjoy them.
Kona Ice has over a dozen different flavors to choose from. It was a hard decision to make while we were standing there but I’m happy with the choices we made.
Besides choosing your flavor, we also had to pick a size. I chose to get us both the color-changing cups. It’s a fairly large size and comes with $3 refills! It was definitely more than enough for us to enjoy today. We never did go back to get a refill. But we will definitely be heading back again this summer because there are so many more flavors I want to try!
