With the holidays coming up fast I am always on the lookout for gift ideas. A chess set is classy, classic and timeless for a gift. A glass chess set is unique. Maxam’s 33 piece glass Chess Set is a great gift idea. 
I’m not one for playing Chess. Personally, I find the game interesting but I haven’t had a chance to learn it yet. But I have always wanted my very own chess game. A glass chess set is unique. I haven’t seen another glass set. Typically I’ve seen wooden chess pieces. And while those are nice, a glass set with go with any decor, look great in a study and can be left out on a table to be used as a statement piece.
One set of the pieces are clear glass and the other set frosted. Each piece is smooth and has a little piece of felt on the bottom to help prevent scratching the board. The board is full of frosted and clear squares. There are also little felt circles on the underside of the board to help prevent scratching of surfaces.
Because this is meant to be displayed and admired there is no storage case for the chess game. I’m not sure I would put it up when not in use. It’s nice to display on a bookcase or side table. But I have a little one and pets, so for me I’d be putting the chess set up when not in use.
I’m excited we have our very first chess set. We already do family game night so I think we are going to try chess one night. It may take us a while to get the hang of it but I think we’ll have a lot of fun trying.
