Moms Can Relate to This

January 11, 2017 By Shanna Leave a Comment

Being a mom is pretty intense. It’s both wonderful and terrifying at the same time. Somedays it can feel like the ultimate burden. On others, it is the biggest privilege you have ever had. But if you are a mom, you already know that. You’ll probably recognize some of the issues below too. But keep reading for some useful suggestions on how to deal with them if they are becoming problematic.

Checking your baby multiple times a night

New moms can be pretty anxious about the health and welfare of their child. They worry that they a getting enough to eat and that they are sleeping right. They have also been known to sneak into babies bedrooms and check that they are still breathing as well.

Moms Newborn peytonWhile this can sound a little neurotic, you have to remember that not only is a mother emotionally attached to a child in a way like no other person. They are also packed full of hormones that send out a message to tend to their children as much as possible. You can read more about this at www.pnmag.com.

But if you finding yourself doing this too much, it can disrupt your own sleep pattern. This isn’t good for you or baby. So what can you do about it? Well how about getting a baby monitor? Then you will be able to check that baby is ok, and also hear if they are not. Or you can get a baby-cam which will give you a visual display while they sleep so you can be sure that they are safe.

Being awake at 5 am because you have to get up for a feed

New moms often have to get up at all sorts of times of the day or night to feed their baby on demand. This can feel exhausting and pretty lonely, as it seems like everyone is safe and warm,  tucked up in bed.

However having something to keep your focus can help. Some moms read their Kindle. While others search the internet while they baby is feeding. This can definitely let you feel less isolated as it will take your mind off it. It will also show you that there are plenty people up at that time too, so you’ll feel a little less alone.

Realizing just how hard it is to afford everything

Another big issue for moms whether they have new babies or older kids is the problem of providing everything they need. Not only do they have to now provide for themselves, but they also need to ensure that their children have the right food, clothes, and toys.

This can be even harder for single moms, as they are torn between working to bring in an income and staying at home to look after their kids. Happily, there are some solutions to help you. Just like the ones available at www.stay-a-stay-at-home-mom.com.

Being really proud of things that no one else cares about

Another issue that moms will notice is that they can get super proud over really small things. What people without kids forget is, that to a mom, things like you kid putting on their own shoes for the first time is a massive step in their progress!

Being in a group with other moms can definitely help you feel heard and validated about these little victories. As they will have experienced similar things and will know exactly what you are on about.
