There is nothing more exciting than bringing home a new vehicle. Well, of course, there are things that are more exciting but bringing home a new vehicle is pretty high up there on the list. I remember the day I drove my Dodge Journey off the lot, I was so excited. Brand new, loaded SUV with a third row and satellite radio, I was on a huge high driving her off the lot. And when I got home the first thing I started to do was think of ways I could help keep her looking like the day I drove her off the lot while driving around with a young child and 2 huge furry dogs.
WeatherTech Floor Mats
Living in the Midwest where we get all the seasons I cannot stress how important WeatherTech Floor Mats are. They have been a lifesaver for my SUV. They are extremely easy to clean, simply take them out of the car and use the hose to wash them down. They also give you a nice secure fit with high sides so no need to worry about that winter sludge getting all over the carpet. And you can order these from the service center at your dealership to have them ready for when you pick up your new car! I have had my current mats for a few years and they still look like the day I bought them.
The back seat floor mat goes across the whole back floor! It catches everything, every stray french fry, dropped juice box and more. When I take out my mats the carpet looks like the day I purchased the vehicle. They really help protect the floor.
Backseat Cover
If you are traveling with children you need this. So really it was made for pets that are traveling in the backseat but honestly, they should be marketing these to parents with small children. It’s a waterproof seat cover that goes over the whole back seat. There are velcro sections that can be opened up to let the seatbelts come through making the back seat completely functional with all it’s designed safety features. Plus, it adds a layer of protection between the car seat and your seat as well.
Having a cover on the backseat has saved my SUV so many times. One time, Peyton dropped a lime green icee all over the backseat. It was a mess. Because I had the seat cover all I had to do was take it out of the car and toss it in the washer and hang it out to dry. If I had not had it, I would’ve been making an appointment with someone to wash all that sticky green sugar out of my car.
Car Chargers
I always like to have 2 car chargers in the car at all times. I have one in the front seat and one in the back seat. There always seems like there is a cell phone or iPad that needs to be charged. And since I like to use my phone for GPS I need a charger.
Cell Phone Holder
Remember how I said I like to use my phone for it’s GPS. Well, it’s kind of hard to hold my phone, reference the GPS and drive at the same time. So now I have a cell phone holder that I can move throughout the front area of the car to a place that is most convenient for what I am using it for.
These are just the few items I have in my SUV to help keep it looking new and comfortable for my family.
