Everyone knows I love to throw a party. And I especially love to throw a party when it includes getting children to use their imaginations! Tonight we threw a Peter and the Wolf in Hollywood party to help get the word out about new app. And what better way to do it than have a bunch of kiddos over to play some games and eat some creative snacks? So I bet you may be wondering what is this new app? Peter and the Wolf in Hollywood is a modern twist on a classic tale told by Alice Cooper! And you can only find it on iTunes. Everyone in our family and extended family have iPads or iPhones so we were set to let the kids try out the app tonight. But I’m not really sure if the kids were as excited to hear Alice Cooper’s voice tell the story or the parent. The whole narration of the story is just shy of an hour. The kids enjoyed some tasty treats while they listened. With belly’s full of Jumping Jello-Pools and Wolf Wraps the kids turned to the kitchen table to start coloring their own Peter and the Wolf in Hollywood pages. It was cute listening to the kids while they colored their pages. Each one told of how they would’ve captured the wolf or what other animals they would’ve wanted to become friends with.
We finished our evening off with a few games. The big hit was taking all the character buttons and putting them into a hat. Then one child had to reach their hand into the hat and pick a button. If the other children could guess which character was pulled they won the button! Listening to the questions asked was very interesting. But they had a blast. Our gathering was pretty low key tonight. The kids really enjoyed listening to a story being read to them and following up with games and coloring. It was nice to see them use their imaginations and play with each other. And us parents enjoyed listening to the story too!
