Starting tomorrow you can bring home Red Dog True Blue on DVD. If you’re not familiar with it, let me fill you in. It’s a winner of the Heartland Film Festival in 2017 and a huge hit with movie critics. And it’s the prequel to Red Dog.
The film is based in Austrailia and tells about the challenges a family faced living in a remote part of Western Australia. In this family, there was a young boy and his dog, Red. We learn about what life was like living in the remote area and all the adventures the boy and his dog had. Mick, the young boy, had no idea what he was in for when he arrived at his grandfather’s cattle station in the remote Pilbara. He expected a life of dull hardship, but instead finds an adventure, and a friendship with a scrappy, one-of-a-kind dog that will change his life forever.
It’s an adorable story about a boy and his scrappy, one of a kind dog. Every kid deserves and should have that type of a relationship with a pet. They were the best of friends and did everything together. The dog grows up to an Austrailian legend and you get to see it from the beginning. Life sure has a way of working out when you least expect it to.
Red Dog True Blue is not rated but I would say it’s ok for young children to watch. I watched it with Peyton and she loved it. There are so many precious moments in this story. As a parent, it’s touching to see a boy find his furever friend and watch them grow together over the years.
Red Dog True Blue is available tomorrow on DVD. You can purchase it online or in stores.
