Well, Sebastian is turning 17 years old in a few months. Can you believe that? He’ll be 17!! On one hand, I’m really proud of myself for raising such a handsome, well behaved, healthy kitty. On the other hand, I can’t believe it’s been 17 years since I brought him home! 17 years sure went by fast.
With November being adopt a senior pet month I wanted to share a little bit about Sebastian and all the fun we have to show you how great a senior pet can be.
Even though Sebastian is older he still loves to play. He has his own basket of toys that he enjoys playing with on a daily. I enjoy picking them up on a daily basis and putting them back in the basket.
Sebastian is also a HUGE snuggler. He loves to sit on my lap while we (yes, I said we, Sebastian likes to watch too) watch tv or while I am working in my home office. He also snuggles every single night. He is the best cat.
And every morning he wakes me up and asks for his breakfast. He loves starting the day with a bowl full of Hill’s® Science Diet® Youthful Vitality. It’s the first thing I do when I get out of bed is to walk to the kitchen and pour a little more into his bowl and refresh his water dish.
Feeding Sebastian a quality cat food like Hill’s® Science Diet® Youthful Vitality helps keep him feeling great and enjoying life. It must taste pretty darn good too because Sebastian won’t eat something if he doesn’t like it. And he gobbles up his food every morning!
Sebastian has different needs, nutritionally than when he was younger. Hill’s® Science Diet® understand that and they made the Youthful Vitality line to meet those needs of older pets. Providing a healthy food like Youthful Vitality along with regular vet checks will help keep Sebastian feeling young and enjoying life for years to come. In fact, we just had his wellness visit this week and Sebastian got a stellar report. He’s the perfect weight! His coat is shiny and his eyes are bright. We did have to shave a matt off his tummy but other than that he’s the perfect picture of kitty health.
If you are looking to adopt a pet this month, check out the older pets too. Sebastian is a senior pet and he’s amazing. Senior pets have a lot of love and affection to give too. Before you head to the shelter to adopt your next family member be sure to watch Mission Adoptable and see how great senior pets can be. “Mission Adoptable,” a new web series from Animal Planet and Hill’s Pet Nutrition and I must say it’s super cute! You can watch all the Mission Adoptable clips online. And be sure to stop by your local pet food retailer and pick up some Hill’s® Science Diet® Youthful Vitality, it helps older pets fight the effects of aging and is specially designed for pets ages 7 and above.
