Can you believe that I have lived in Minnesota all my life and I have never been to a corn maze? I even lived in Shakopee, for a few years, home to one of the best family corn mazes around. And yet, I had never been! Well, this year is the year I am going to one. And I’m bringing Peyton with me, she has never been to one either!
Sever’s Fall Festival is not your typical maze. Every year they have a theme, this year its Dive Under the Sea. That theme dictates what the maze is going to look like. So this year, it’s a crazy cool maze filled with many twists and turns. But while you are winding and weaving through the maze you’ll find these cool stations filled with fun diving facts! You are also looking for Suba Sever while you are winding through the maze, there are a total of 6 locations to find. Fill out where you’ve found Scuba Sever on your dive card and turn it in when you are finished. Each correct dive card will be entered to win the grand prize.
Now I know wondering through a huge maze that you cannot see the exit can be a tad intimidating, but don’t worry, there is staff walking throughout the maze to help you if you get lost or stressed. We were in the maze for a little over an hour and saw staff at least 4 times.
Besides the maze, there are lots of other things to do while at Sever’s. First, the food! There are so many choices!! Remember to bring your appetite and enjoy a little treat or two while you are there. They even have roasted corn on the cob!!
There are also several places to take some adorable fall photos of the kids. There were a few different tractors that Peyton crawled up on and I took photos of her “driving” the tractors. There are also some cute cut outs for the kids to put their heads through and take photos. And some wood carvings as well they can pose by.
When you pull up to Sever’s the first thing you will notice is all the pumpkins. And guess what? They are for sale! Let the kids walk through and pick out their favorite to take home and carve. Plus, there are apples for sale too. This is your one-stop shop for all things fall. You can pick your pumpkins, grab some apples and enjoy some great food while you are trying to find all 6 Scuba Sever!
Peyton and I really had a great time at Sever’s Corn Maze. It was a very brisk day but once we got in the maze it wasn’t that bad. Plus there was so much to do that Peyton didn’t even notice if it was windy, she just wanted to keep running from tractor to hay bales to maze without stopping.
We will definitely be back to check out Sever’s next year, however, it’ll have a new home next year! Check out the picture below to see where they are moving to.
So if you are looking for somewhere to take the family check out Sever’s Fall Festival. It’s located in Shakopee, near Canterbury Downs. See the website for directions and to purchase tickets.
