Last night Peyton and I had the pleasure of attending Shopkins Live! When I told Peyton we had tickets to see the show I thought she was going to burst. I had no clue she would be this excited. But when I looked around last night I saw a lot of little girls that were so excited and thrilled to be at the show that they couldn’t sit still. The air was filled with excitement and high energy at this show!
When the show started we met Jessicake! You should have heard all the little girls squeal! Even Peyton jumped up and shouted, “it’s Jessicake!!” The fun and fashionista Shoppies fill the show with energizing dance numbers and song that got the little girls up out of their seats and joining in on the numbers.
There were other Shoppies there too, my favorite was Cocolette, she’s just adorable. But we also saw Bubbleisha, Peppa-Mint, Rainbow Kate, Polli Polish and a mystery guest. And there were plenty of Shopkins joining in on the fun too like Apple Blossom, Strawberry Kiss, Lippy Lips, Kooky Cookie, Poppy Corn, Slick Breadstick and Shady Diva.
The storyline is very cute. I liked how it drove home manners, taking other’s feelings into consideration, responsibilities and more. But they did it in a way that the children will still having a blast enjoying the show while learning some important life lessons at the same time.
Jessicake had the hardest lesson of all to learn. She learned she needed to keep her word and be responsible when given important tasks. She learns how now following through on her promise not only has a negative consequence for her but also for everyone else. I thought having this lesson so prominent throughout the show was great. When I looked around a lot of the girls appeared to 5-10 years old. That’s an age group that really needs to learn this life skill. I know it resonated with the second graders I had with me. And they both could relate to having a friend break a promise and not do as they said they would.
All the Shoppies learned about taking others feelings into consideration. Every single Shoppie hurt Slick Breadstick’s feelings when they weren’t all that nice to him. Again, another situation these little girls could relate to.
If you are looking for a night of family-friendly entertainment that your child will love and you’ll enjoy too I highly suggest checking out Shopkins Live! There are still plenty of tour dates coming up and these would make wonderful stocking stuffer gifts! Or even a gift for your favorite niece or granddaughter. Pretty much if you have a little one in your life that enjoys Shopkins and Shoppies they would love to see this production.
