Signs You Should Change Your Career

Have you been thinking about changing your career for quite some time now? A lot of people want to take the plunge and make a career change, yet they can often feel too scared or nervous about doing so. We understand; it’s a big change, after all! However, changing your career could help you to enjoy life more and fulfil your dreams. With that being said, below, we are going to take a look at some of the most common signs that a career change is needed.

You just don’t feel like you’re a good fit – If you feel like you and your career are at loggerheads and you just don’t fit well together, this is a good sign that you should explore what is going to be better suited to you. You should get to know your personality with the Enneagram test. This test will help you to understand which of the nine personality types you are, and this can give you a much better indication of what sort of job role is going to be right for you. For example, personality type 9 is the peacekeeper, and this is a personality that is suited to being a religious worker, diplomat, doctor, or counselor. Of course, you do not have to choose one of the careers mentioned, but knowing your personality is going to help you determine what jobs are right for you and what jobs aren’t a good fit.

You hate going to work and you count down the days until Friday – A lot of people can’t wait for the weekend. After all, who doesn’t love some time to relax and see their families and friends? However, if you wake up feeling dread every morning and you spend your entire week thinking about simply making it until Friday, it is time for a change! No one should live this way. You are going to spend the majority of your life working, and so it is important that you are happy.

You don’t feel challenged and you have not motivation – Do you feel like you have hit a brick wall and you are not going anywhere with your career? If you feel unmotivated and that your job is not challenging you anymore, it may be time to look for something new that is going to challenge you? When you are bored and uninspired in the workplace, it can have a negative impact on other areas of your life. It may be time for a career that actually puts your skills to best use!

As you can see, there are a number of different reasons why people feel compelled to change their career today. If you have noticed any of the indicators that have been discussed above, we would definitely recommend exploring the possibility of a career change further. We know that a career change can be a scary thing, but it can also be one of the best things you ever do for yourself as well!
