Peyton and I were fortunate to be invited to a media preview day at ValleyFair for the Peanuts Celebration going on every weekend from now until June 30th. We even got to try out a few of the Peanuts-themed food that will be around for a limited time. The one sandwich that was a huge hit with our whole group was Snoopy’s Golf Club Sandwich. It’s simple, light, and a hit with all ages. So, I decided to recreate that sandwich for all you to make at home. I guarantee this will be a crowd pleaser no matter what the activity.
You will need the following to create at home –
Hawaiian Rolls or Hawaiian Subs
Bacon
Turkey
Swiss Cheese
Tomato
Lettuce
Mayo
The only time-consuming item is the bacon, you’ll need to have that cooked so it’s crispy before you start assembling your sandwiches. Here’s my little trick – cook you bacon the night before and place in an airtight container wrapped in a paper towel. Before you need it, pop it in the microwave for 30-45 seconds wrapped in a paper towel to warm it up.
If you are making several of these, I suggest lining the ingredients up like an assembly line.
Slice your tomatoes to your desired thickness. I like to use Roma Tomatoes because I think they are firm and work well in sandwiches.
Wash and dry your leaf lettuce.
Either purchase sliced Swiss cheese or slice your Swiss cheese to the desired thickness.
First, place a slice of swiss cheese on the bottom piece of bread.
Next, place some sliced turkey on top of the cheese.
Then a leaf of lettuce and a slice or two of tomato.
Lastly, 2 strips of bacon.
Spread your desired amount of mayo on the top piece of bread and assemble.
That is your Snoopy Golf Club Sandwich. Just like the one you’ll get at ValleyFair but now you can have it anytime you want!
Be sure to head out to ValleyFair in Shakopee, Minnesota before the Peanuts Celebration is over.
