Styling Your Disney Trip

If you’ve got a trip to Disney plan, you’ll be eager to get your itinerary sorted and your wardrobe ready. To make the most of your time at the ‘Most Magical Place on Earth’, you’ll want to ensure you have everything you need in your suitcase. With this in mind, take a look at these top tips for styling your Disney trip:

Consider Your Destination

Tell people you’re going to Disney and they’ll automatically assume you’re headed to sunny Florida. However, there are actually six main Disney resorts around the world. As well as Florida, you can plan Disney trips in California, Paris, Shanghai, Tokyo, and Hong Kong.

Of course, the climate and temperature will depend on which Park you’re headed to and what time of year you’re going. Before you start packing shorts and t-shirts, double-check what the average temperature for your destination is and plan accordingly.

Make Footwear a Top Priority

If you’re going to Disney, expect to spend a lot of time on your feet. To get the most out of your visit, you’ll want to be watching parades, going on rides, and exploring attractions from dawn until dusk, so there’s going to be lots of walking involved.

This means that comfortable footwear is absolutely essential. Sneakers and flats are the order of the day at Disney, although you may want to pack some heels or boots if you want to enjoy a nice dinner at the end of a long day. For the parks, however, you’ll want comfortable shoes that give your feet room to breathe and cushioned soles for when you’ve been walking around for hours.

Layer Your Outfits

When you set off in the morning, you don’t know how the temperature might change throughout the day. Wearing layers makes it easy to adjust and avoids having to return to your hotel room in order to change your clothes. Relaxed fit jeans, cotton shorts, or skirts, paired with women’s T-shirts, light sweaters, or a chunky knit cardigan create a comfortable yet cute outfit that’s perfect for Disney. For guys, cargo pants (or shorts if it’s going to be hot), along with a polo neck and light jacket is a great option.

Take a Bag

Whether you’re traveling alone, with a partner, or with young kids, you’re going to need to prepare for all eventualities, so having the right bag is critical to your success! If you have young kids, you’re going to need to have a variety of supplies with you, so a large rucksack with numerous compartments is probably your best bet. As well as being big enough to fit everything you need in, carrying it on your back can make it easier to transport everything you need.

Alternatively, try an across-the-body bag that distributes the weight more evenly than a tote and is easier to carry than a single-shoulder bag or a satchel. To keep your possessions safe and secure, choose a bag that can be zipped and locked.

Sunscreen & Sunglasses

If you’re going to be visiting any of the Disney parks in the Spring or Summer, you’re definitely going to want to have sunscreen and sunglasses on hand at all times. Even when the temperature is relatively low in early Spring, the glare of the sun can make it hard to see. Of course, you don’t want to miss out on anything, so make sure you’ve got a pair of sunglasses you can slip on. Don’t forget – kids’ sunglasses can help to enhance their enjoyment and protect their eyes from the sun too.

Similarly, it doesn’t have to feel overly hot for the sun to be able to damage your skin, so make sure you slather yourself and your family in sunscreen before you head out for the day. Setting a reminder on your phone will help to ensure you don’t miss out on topping up your sun protection throughout the day.

Mickey and Minnie Ears

Okay, you won’t be the only one wearing them, but they’re a staple accessory when you’re heading to Disney. If you want to immerse yourself in your surroundings, a pair of Mickey or Minnie ears are the ultimate accessory.

Plan a Trip to Remember

Whether you’re traveling to Disney for the first time or you’re a seasoned visitor, you’ll want to ensure you’ve got everything you need to make the most of your trip. With all the essentials to hand, as well as a few on-trend pieces, you can ensure your Disney trip is memorable for all the right reasons.
