Monday’s are always chaotic at our house. Actually, every day is crazy. When you have kids, pets and a job outside of the house, mornings can be challenging. And let me tell you, this morning did not disappoint! Between hunting down missing shoes and library books, making school lunches and snacks and trying to get the trash to the curb before the trash man arrived I’m surprised we even made it to school on time. But I’m going to share a few tips and tricks I try to use to help make my mornings run smoothly. And how I find the energy to do it all….Dunkin’ Donuts Iced Coffee.
Caffeine
All parents need caffeine. It’s like a staple that needs to be present in your life at all times once you are released from the hospital. Your leisurely mornings or stopping at the coffee shop and picking up your iced mocha are over. You’ll be thankful if you can get out of the house in a matching outfit and the thought of toting a little one into a coffee shop is not appealing. That’s why I keep a stash of Dunkin’ Donuts iced coffee on hand.
My favorite is the mocha, it’s so yummy! I usually have a few Mocha and French Vanilla stashed in my fridge, ready to go. I just take them out, pour over ice and on with my morning I go. No waiting in line, no wrangling children in a coffee shop. Heck, I can still be in my PJs and have my Iced Mocha in hand. Dunkin’ Donuts iced coffee also comes in French Vanilla, Orginal, and Espresso.
Dunkin’ Donuts Iced Coffee is the same high-quality Arabica coffee blends with real milk and sugar that you are accustomed to getting at the restaurant but now can enjoy anytime and anywhere.
Lunch Box Prep
If at all possible, prep those lunchboxes and snack boxes the night before. I try to put everything in the lunchbox, except the PB&J. I like to make that one fresh in the morning. Then I place the prepared boxes in the fridge till morning. All I need to do is add a sandwich and ice pack and we are off!
Choose Outfits the Night Before
This sounds so simple. And it should be unless you are a 7-year-old fashionista that needs to change umpteen times before making a decision. I really work with Peyton to pick out her clothes the night before and lay them out. Including the shoes. Because those darn shoes get us nearly every morning!
Pack Bags the Night Before
I find we waste a lot of time in the morning looking for homework, library books, purses and whatever else needs to leave with us for the day. My goal is to pack all of our bags the night before and have them by the door. That way, in the morning, we can just pick them up as we walk out the door.
Grocery Shop on the Weekend
On Sunday morning I like to get up early (like 8 am) and head to the store with my list for the week. This is the time I pick up everything needed for snacks, lunches and my caffeine for the week. Our retailer of choice is Cub Foods because they carry my Dunkin’ Donuts Iced Coffee, it’s also available at Farm Fresh.. I like to do all our shopping and then swing down the beverage aisle and pick up some Dunkin’ Donuts on our way out. The store is usually pretty quiet on Sunday mornings and well stocked so it’s the perfect time to go.
If you want those mornings to run smoother, implement the steps above. And don’t forget to pick up some Dunkin’ Donuts Iced Coffee next time you’re out picking up the groceries at Cub Foods.
