The Berenstain Bears’ Caring and Sharing Treasury

Review DisclosureThe Berenstain Bears’ was one of my favorite families to read about when I was growing up. In Caring and Sharing Treasury you get 5 of The Berenstain Bears’ book in 1! What a great way to start your Berenstain Bears’ collection.

The Berenstain Bears Caring and Sharing TreasuryThe first story is The Berenstain Bears Jobs Around Town. It’s about a time when Brother and Sister Bear walked around Bear Country and learned about all the jobs people do.  We, the reader, get to follow along as Brother and Sister meet everyone and learn about their occupations. They even go to a construction site and learn about building and taking down buildings! This whole time they are trying to figure out what type of job they want when they grow up. By the end of the story they still haven’t decided. But Mama and Papa Berenstain remind them that God will help them pick the right job for them.

The second story is The Berenstain Bears Get Involved. The story starts out with Sister and Brother showing us everything they do in Cub Club. They do some pretty fun projects! As well as help others when needed. Then one day there is a horrible storm. Papa bear goes to see if he can help Uncle Ned save his home from all the rain. Sister, Brother and the Cub Club help out too. This is a wonderful story to help children understand the importance of helping one another.

The third story is The Berenstain Bears Love Their Neighbors.  The first few pages of the story we met all of the Berenstain Bears neighbors. But there’s one neighbor, The Bogg Brothers, that Mama and Papa feel do not make good neighbors. One day, the Berenstain’s were heading to the Big Beartown Festival and their car broke down. Everyone whom the Berenstain’s thought were good neighbors didn’t stop to help them. But the Bogg Brothers stopped. They towed the Berenstain’s to a gas station and helped get the car fixed. It’s a good lesson about not judging someone on looks. While all the other neighbors appeared to be friendly, well kept and nice none them stepped up to help. They all used the excuse they had to be somewhere. The Bogg Brothers are a little loud and dirty at first glance, but they went out of their way to help.

The fourth story is The Berenstain Bears Gossip Gang. I bet you can’t tell what this is about?? Everyone seems to have the gossip bug. Sister learns first hand how it feels when someone gossips about her. I think this story is perfect for children to see how it hurts another person when you talk about them.

The last story is The Berenstain Bears and the Biggest Brag. Both Brother and Sister work very hard at their academics, sports, art and pretty much everything they do. But when it comes time to share their accomplishments they come off more like braggarts than sharing. They are always trying to top one another. Grandpa Bear is able to get the twins to see the error of their ways.

The five stories included in this book are full of life lessons every little one needs to learn. The lessons are conveyed in a way little minds can understand and relate to.
