Peyton is at the age that she wants to learn to cook for herself so I am always on the lookout for recipes that are healthy and easy for a beginner. The Healthy Teen Cookbook fits both of those requirements. While Peyton is not a teen, these recipes are still are a great place to start.
To be honest, some of the recipes are a little more complex than I was expecting in a teen cookbook. And some of the textures and flavors in the recipes are a little more complex than I think most kids are used to. But I really do like this cookbook.
The Healthy Teen Cookbook is filled with colorful and flavorful recipes for your family to try out. There is a little bit of everything included in this cookbook. There are 80 recipes from cultures around the world to explore.
The cookbook is broken down into 7 chapters –
Continent of North America – 12 recipes
Continent of South America – 5 recipes
Continent of Europe – 15 recipes
Continent of Africa – 10 recipes
Continent of Asia – 11 recipes
Continent of Australia – 1 recipe
Continent of Antarctica 8 recipes
And a few more recipes sprinkled throughout.
The creator of this cookbook is Chopped kid chef and entrepreneur Remmi Smith. Did you know she hosts 2 cooking shows? And serves as a national Student Ambassador for a leading food services company? This girl is busy! Her goal was to create a cookbook, filled with colorful dishes (and yes there are tons of photos in this cookbook) that are healthy for teens to start cooking. I really think she accomplished just that. This is a great cookbook for a teen that is interested in learning to cook dishes from around the world.
You can purchase your own copy of The Healthy Teen Cookbook by Remmi Smith online or at your local bookstore.
