How to Make Trolls World Tour Marshmallow Popcorn Treats

Step 1: Prepare the Cotton Candy

If you’re making homemade cotton candy, prepare each color first and set it aside until you’re ready to decorate. Store it somewhere cool and dry while you prepare the popcorn treats.

Step 2: Pop the Popcorn

Pop about 8 to 10 cups of popcorn using an air popper or your favorite method. Remove any unpopped kernels.

Step 3: Melt the Marshmallows

In a large non-stick stockpot, melt the butter over medium heat.

Add the marshmallows and stir constantly until completely melted and smooth.

Step 4: Combine Everything

Remove the pot from the heat.

Fold the popcorn into the marshmallow mixture until evenly coated.

Gently stir in the colorful sprinkles.

Step 5: Shape the Popcorn Cakes

Lightly spray a Bundt pan with cooking spray.

Firmly press the popcorn mixture into the pan, making sure to eliminate air pockets.

Allow it to cool for about 10 minutes.

Carefully invert the Bundt pan onto wax paper to release the popcorn ring.

Step 6: Decorate

Melt the pink candy wafers in a microwave-safe bag or bowl using 30-second intervals, stirring between each interval until smooth.

Repeat with the blue candy wafers.

Snip a small corner from each bag and drizzle the melted chocolate over the popcorn cake.

Before the chocolate sets, place tufts of colorful cotton candy around the center of the ring so they stick in place.

Serve immediately or within a few hours for the best presentation.

Tips for Success

  • Use fresh popcorn for the best texture.
  • Remove every unpopped kernel before mixing.
  • Press the popcorn firmly into the Bundt pan so it holds its shape.
  • Decorate just before serving since cotton candy naturally shrinks when exposed to moisture.
  • Mix and match candy melt colors to create an even more vibrant Trolls-inspired dessert.

Storage

These popcorn treats are best enjoyed the same day they are made.

If needed, store the popcorn cake in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. Add the cotton candy right before serving for the best appearance.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use microwave popcorn?

Yes! Just use plain or lightly buttered popcorn and avoid heavily seasoned varieties.

Can I skip the cotton candy?

Absolutely. The treats are still colorful and delicious with just the sprinkles and candy drizzle.

Can I make these ahead of time?

You can prepare the popcorn cake one day ahead, but wait to add the cotton candy until just before serving since humidity causes it to shrink.

These Trolls World Tour Marshmallow Popcorn Treats are a colorful, kid-approved dessert that’s perfect for birthdays, sleepovers, movie nights, or any Trolls-themed celebration. With gooey marshmallows, crunchy popcorn, colorful sprinkles, and fluffy cotton candy, they’re every bit as fun to make as they are to eat. If you’re looking for a creative party treat that will wow both kids and adults, this easy recipe is sure to become a favorite.
