Valleyfair, the premier amusement park in Shakopee, Minnesota, officially opened its gates for the 2025 season on Sunday, May 11. Season pass holders were treated to an exclusive preview day on May 10, offering early access to the park’s array of over 75 rides and attractions.
Introducing the Juicy Lucy Festival
A highlight of this season is the debut of the Juicy Lucy Festival, celebrating Minnesota’s iconic cheese-stuffed burger. Scheduled for July 12–13 and July 19–20, the festival will feature a variety of creative burger renditions, local craft beverages, and live performances by Minnesota bands. Valleyfair’s culinary team has collaborated with local breweries to showcase regional flavors, enhancing the festival’s authentic experience.
Soak City Waterpark Reopens
Valleyfair’s seven-acre waterpark, Soak City, is set to reopen on May 24. Guests can look forward to a range of water attractions, including slides, a lazy river, and a wave pool, providing a refreshing escape during the summer months.
Seasonal Events Lineup
The 2025 season boasts a robust lineup of events:
- Star-Spangled Night (July 4): A patriotic celebration featuring a fireworks display synchronized to music.
- Latin Days (August 2–3): A cultural festivity with Latin cuisine, dance performances, and music.
- Corn Fest (Weekends, August 16–September 1): An event celebrating corn with themed treats, live music, and a corn-eating contest.
- ValleyScare (Select nights, September 20–October 25): The Twin Cities’ largest Halloween event, offering haunted mazes and scare zones.
- Tricks and Treats (Select dates, September 27–October 26): A family-friendly Halloween experience with festive activities and trick-or-treating.
New Entertainment Offerings
Valleyfair introduces several new shows this season:
- SoundCycle: A pedal-powered musical experience.
- Hoops 101: An interactive hula hoop performance.
- Happiness is…: A show celebrating the 75th anniversary of the Peanuts characters.
- Additionally, guests can enjoy returning favorites like Summer Smash-Up and The Drifters, as well as meet-and-greets with Peanuts characters.
