Zingerman’s Bakehouse by Amy Emberling and Frank Carollo

If you love to bake or have a baker on your list this holiday season you’ll want to check out Zingerman’s Bakehouse by Amy Emberling and Frank Carollo. Zingerman’s Bakehouse is perfect for all level of bakers. This book is filled with 65 of the best recipes from Zingerman’s. The best recipes that once could only be found at Zingerman’s you can now make in your own kitchen to impress your guest with. This is great for those of use that are nowhere near Zingerman’s Bakehouse.

Zingerman's Bakehouse

There are a total of 8 chapters in this book. Throughout the 8 chapters, you’ll find recipes for breads, cakes, cookies, pizza and so much more. There are also personal stories sprinkled throughout the book to share the history and love of Zingerman’s Bakehouse with you.

There are also educational pieces throughout the book too, that’s why it’s great for all level of bakers. For the beginning baker, they will learn all about the basics of baking and the type of equipment needed to be a successful baker at home. For the experienced baker it’s a little refresher and maybe a time to go through their own equipment and replace items that may have seen better days.

Each recipe is filled with step by step directions that are very clear. However, I do miss that there are not photos with each recipe. Since I have never visited Zingerman’s Bakehouse I am not familiar with what the finished bake good is supposed to look like. So for me, I really like seeing a photo so I can see what I am trying to create. It really helps me work through the process. However, the few photos they do have are beautiful and I cannot wait to try and recreate those recipes in my own kitchen.

If you are looking for a cookbook filled with recipes of varying difficulties this is the book you want.

Zingerman’s Bakehouse can be purchased at your local bookstore or online.
