I love to camp and spend as much time outdoors as possible in the summer. Our summers are fairly short so we want to make the most of them. When camping with a small child late night or even middle of the night potty breaks are a nightly occurrence. So having a bright lantern is essential so you can see where you are going and avoid walking into other camp sites. When I was offered a chance to review the AYL StarLight – 300 Lumens Ultra Bright LED Lantern in exchange for my honest and unbiased review I was quick to agree. This sounded like the perfect solution to those late night potty breaks.
When the LED Lantern arrived I was surprised at the compact size of the package. I’m used to camping with huge bulky lanterns so I was pretty pleased to see a nice compact lantern. I needed to put in 3 D batteries to get my lantern to light it. It was extremely easy, simply untwist the bottom, install batteries and replace bottom. Done. Now it was time to see what this lantern could do. To my surprise there are THREE settings! I have only had lanterns with one setting. On. But the AYL StarLight – 300 Lumens Ultra Bright LED Lantern can be turned on low, high or strobe. And this call all be done with a press of a button.
After testing out the LED Lantern I couldn’t be more pleased. I love how compact it is. I appreciate the three setting, though I’m not sure what I’d use strobe for. But I really like the high and low setting. This is a great little lantern for camping or an emergency kit. When we are not camping I will be keeping ours in the pantry for when the summer storms roll through and knock out the power.
