Every year I chose a word to represent that year’s focus. Last year, the word was boundaries. It was a good choice. In 2019 I set a lot of boundaries. Boundaries with friends, family and professional. At first, it was difficult. I felt selfish creating those boundaries. It was also difficult keeping those boundaries set because people kept trying to push them. But I stayed strong. Not always but most of the time. Setting those boundaries really helped me focus on what was important in my life.
By setting boundaries I learned a lot about myself and those around me. I learned who was truly in my life because they wanted to be a part of my life. I also found out those who did not have pure or true intentions. Those people did not like boundaries because it inhibited them from taking advantage of my time and talents. It was a real eye-opener.
So this year, we focus on growth. I have so many areas in my life that I was to see grow and develop.
I want to see my business grow. I have plans to really focus on specific areas. To grow through professional development and to implement my new knowledge to see the impact of my efforts.
I want to see our travel expand. I want to see Peyton’s knowledge of the places around her, the history come to life through travel and learning. I want to experience new places with Peyton and grow the list of states we’ve visited.
I want to grow my culinary skills. I want to learn new techniques, new cuisines. I want to try new foods and experiments with new flavors.
There is so much I want to see grow this year and I think by setting boundaries last year I have placed myself in a good place to see growth.
2020 is going to be an exciting year. Peyton and I have some pretty epic travels planned. I have some over the top recipes in the works. And the plans we have to grow the Peyton’s Momma readership family is already in the works. So keep checking in and following us. There are some fun and amazing times ahead!
