After the first of the year, you went out and bought some exercise equipment. Your New Years resolution was to get in shape and shed some inches. But now it’s been 6 months and those resolutions are somewhat still in effect but not so much at the same time. A common exercise piece is a yoga ball. I know we have a few of these throughout our home. But a yoga ball can be used for so much more than yoga!
Yes, you can use a yoga ball in lieu of a chair. It’s a very popular practice nowadays. I know they do it in my daughter’s school and it has worked wonders for some children to help keep them more focused. It is also great for building your core strength and improving your posture.
Use it to help progress labor
I know this one is not for everyone but if you are pregnant a yoga ball can come in handy during those last few days and hours. The ball can offer support and comfort while you are trying to get that baby to come out. And it can be used throughout your pregnancy to help support your belly for doing certain exercises.
Burn off Extra Energy
I let Peyton use the yoga ball to burn off her extra energy. Some nights, she is so full of energy and it’s either too dark or for whatever reason, she can’t go outside and run it off. I let her bounce on the yoga ball. It lets her burn off that extra energy without destroying our home.
There are plenty of exercises you can do using your yoga ball. Some can help with back pain, others can help strengthen your core muscles and some can help with posture. The yoga ball is extremely versatile. And the best part is they take up just a little bit of room! You can even deflate it if you need to save on space!
