4 Ways to Get Outdoors With Your Family This Summer

Summer is one of the best times to enjoy the great outdoors. With good weather and the sunshine, it is the perfect time to enjoy the time with your children. They can get plenty of that all-important vitamin D, as well as enjoy the outdoors, exploring and making memories. The school break can feel quite long, though. It can be hard to know what to fill the time with. So here are just a few little ideas, to help you explore the outdoors and pass the time.Madison's Place Madison Claire Foundation

Fun with Water

In summer, nothing is better than cooling off in water. There are lots of things that you could do with the kids that involve with water. Going to a local splash pad or swimming pool is always a great idea. Sometimes everyone else will have had the idea too. So if you’d prefer something a little quieter, how about playing with water at home? You could have a water fight with water balloons and water guns. You could paint with water, using large paintbrushes on the sidewalk or patio. The great thing about that is that it doesn’t take long for it all to dry. You could make a slip and slide. This can be hours of fun, for children of all ages.

Explore in the Woods

Most of us will have some land or woods close by to us that we can explore with our children. It might even be a better option for the days that are a little cooler. So you could grab some boots and get exploring. You could take papers and crayons and draw pictures of what you see. You could do tree rubbings on the bark or with leaves. You could even hunt for bugs and insects and see what you can find.Madison's Place Madison Claire Foundation

Play at the Park

You could get out to your local park to play and pass the time. Spend a few hours and take a picnic. It is some of the best fun that the kids can have! If you don’t have a park too close to you, you could create your own park at home. You could get yourself a swing set or some outdoor play equipment for your kids. A sand pit could be fun to play with in the garden, as well as a water table or bat and ball.ChildrenCamp Out

Having a camp out with your family is a great way to have fun over summer. Everyone will have lots of fun doing something a little different for the night. You could have a campfire and s’mores. If you don’t have a tent, you could sleep out on a trampoline or in a conservatory. Look at the stars and tell stories; it is the perfect time to create happy memories with your family.

Have a great summer with your little ones. Just make sure that you keep safe when you are out and about. Sunscreen is important to keep everyone safe if you are spending a lot of time outdoors.
