August is the month of travel for this family. We will be gone for 18 of the 31 days of August. Can you believe that?! While it sounds amazing it also very stressful. How will I stay on track while traveling? What can I take with me on a plane? These were questions that I had rattling through my brain on our drive home last week from Chicago. We were home for less than 36 hours before we headed to the airport to board a plane for Orlando.
That short time home didn’t leave much time for me to pack or organize or anything! But I managed. I had looked up TSA restrictions over the weekend just to make sure nothing had changed since the last time we traveled. And it hadn’t. Now it was time for a plan.
Bring Your Own Water Bottle
You still cannot bring liquids through security but you can bring your own water bottle and fill it up once you pass through security! Many of the fast food locations will let you fill your water bottle with ice and water from the soda machines. Just be sure to ask first and try not to go to the busiest place in the airport. I brought my own water bottle and filled it up at a fast food restaurant before we boarded the plane. You can also buy a bottle of water too. But I’m cheap and didn’t want to pay $3+ for a little bottle of water so I brought my own.
Nutrisystem Meal Replacement Bars
A flight from Minnesota to Florida is about 3 hours long and almost always over lapses with a mealtime. I brought my favorite, Fudge Graham Bar with me to help get me through meal time. Nutrisystem has several different meal replacement bars you can choose from. So if you are a frequent flyer you’ll have plenty of choices.
Nutrisystem Snacks
The snacks at the airport and on the plane and junk food. They are full of calories and fat. So I like to pack my back with some Nutrisystem snacks! I like a wide variety, I never know what mood I’ll be in so I tossed in a few different types of cookies, some popcorn, and cheese puffs. I knew that would hold me over and satisfy my cravings so I didn’t raid the snack cart mid-flight.
Nutrisystem Muffins
Are you traveling in the morning? You probably don’t want a meal replacement bar at 6 am but Nutrisystem does have some amazing muffins. I have tried the blueberry, chocolate chip, banana nut and cinnamon streusel. They are all yummy!
Ask for Lemons or Limes from the Flight Crew
We flew a major airline and they were super kind to us. Typically they have lemons and limes on the flight for cocktails so if you feel your water needs a little pick me up you can always ask if they will give you a wedge or two and toss them in your water bottle. You can try getting a lemon through security but I’m not sure how successful you’ll be. I just asked the flight crew when we were coming home for a lemon wedge and they were more than happy to oblige.
You can travel and do everything you did before you started Nutrisystem. You just have to look at ways to incorporate your new lifestyle.
If you are ready to slow down and enjoy life while trying to drop a few pounds, check out Nutrisystem. It’s really made a difference in my life.
