A Bedroom Refresh with Poster Store

Once you become a parent life gets insanely busy. You are constantly on the move and days seem to fly by. Now that Peyton is a little older I’m taking time to refresh my space and make it more like my own personal sanctuary with the help of PosterStore.com. I want a space for myself. A space to escape to and enjoy while Peyton and her girlfriends take over our living room and gush over how cute UK streamers are. While they are out there giggling and laughing I’ll be relaxing and enjoying my new gallery wall with prints and posters I chose.

Creating a space I want to be is key to my plan.  When I looked around my room the first thing I noticed was the walls. Most of my walls are empty but where I do have artwork, it’s the artwork I have had since before Peyton was born! Some of these pieces have been with me for well over 15 years. It was definitely time to pick out some new prints. As I was perusing the pages of prints I kept finding myself drawn to nature prints.  A print with a blue butterfly in a field kept pulling me back to it. So after a while, I decided that blue butterfly was going to be the focal point of my new gallery wall.

Before

I’ve created a few gallery walls over the years so I knew I needed to pick prints of various sizes but that also flowed well together. I had chosen my focal point of the wall, the blue butterfly, so now I needed to choose a few slightly smaller pieces to help balance the wall. I took my time browsing through the incredible selection of unique prints. Plus, they release a new poster collection every Tuesday!

I really felt drawn to this quote –

And at the end of the day you should be dirty, your hair messy and your eyes sparkling.

I felt it spoke to me. It’s how I wanted every day to end because it means I have been in the moment and living my life to the fullest.

There were several nature posters I wanted to mix in with my wall but I chose a picture of a lake at sunrise. It reminded me of my summers growing up and spending time at our cabin. A happy, peaceful feeling that I want to help nurture in my space so I chose that to help round out the start of our gallery wall.

Once I chose the prints, I was ready to order. I settled on my sizes for each print and chose the frame style I wanted.  Added it all to the cart and checked out. It was very easy.

The package came fairly quickly. When the box arrived with my prints and frames I was so excited! I couldn’t wait to unwrap them. When I opened the box I was impressed at how well cared for the items were.  Every poster is printed on sustainably produced, high-quality paper. To protect them during their journey, the posters were all laid flat and wrapped in a protective sleeve taped at the corners onto a rigid piece of cardboard.  Each frame was wrapped in bubble wrap. All my items had been packed with such care and it showed.

I do have a little tip – there is cellophane on the frames on both sides so you will need to peel it off before you place your print in the frame.

Each print fits perfectly into the frames. There was no need for adjusting them or taping them so they would not slip. I placed a frame on my counter, laid the print inside, and then secured the back to the frame. Took me less than 15 minutes to have all my prints in their frames ready to hang.

Now the hanging part was probably the most stressful part of my project. I am a perfectionist and wanted them to look perfect. Because my bed is not centered on my wall, I chose to center the prints over my headboard. I found the highest part of my headboard and then placed that gorgeous butterfly print above it.  Then I hung the other two prints, one on each side just a little bit down on the wall. I might want to add a few more prints later so I wanted to leave some space plus I loved how this looked.

Now, when I walk into my room the first thing I see and focus on is my blue butterfly. It just brings so much joy and happiness to me that it makes me feel happy and content when I enter that space.

My little room refresh with PosterStore.com was a success! I found quality prints that look amazing on my wall and helped update my room while making it into a relaxing sanctuary to escape the tween social hour happening in my living room.
