Now I have my coffee and it’s time to start kicking butt in the office. I have so much to do with year end creeping up. But I’m not going to bore you with the details. When I’m not blogging I’m an accountant. So I am running payroll for companies, bookkeeping, reviewing financial statements and all that jazz. I love it. I’ve always loved math and being an accountant lets me play with numbers all day long. But our office has been going through some transitions over the past few months so it’s crazy. We had our first staff meeting in months, And I found it refreshing to just catch up and find out what everyone is working on. Then it was back to the numbers!
When lunch time rolled around I took the opportunity to take some product pictures for articles I have coming up. My office has some of the most unique textures and colors in it and I love using it as backdrops for my pictures. I even headed outside and took some pictures in the snow! I love mixing it up. After I did that I ran and picked up some lunch from Osaka.
Once lunchtime was over I had to do a little office furniture rearranging. We hired another employee and needed to move our conference room and turn it into an office. Well, since we are a small office that means we all get to pitch in. I spent about an hour helping to move furniture and stuff around. And during that time I realized I had a cocktail hour event to go to! And I was wearing jeans. So off to the store I went to grab a new outfit. There was no time to run home.
While I’m shopping I realize I really have no makeup on today. I did an extremely natural look this morning because I wasn’t thinking about what I had going on this evening. But seeing as how I also blog part time for a large beauty blog I thought I would have some laying around. Or at least I was hoping. When it came time to liven up my look I was able to find a black eyeliner, mascara and some lip stick. I guess that will have to do. This was my first time being invited to a PR event by a major company and I really wanted to look glamorous. But I guess I had to settle for mom like. And I guess that fits me.
As I was driving back to the office I saw my daughter’s favorite stuffed animal in my car, her caterpillar. No! I knew she would want this the second she got done with school and I was not picking her up. I had to track down my mom and hand off Cali (the caterpillar). After my mom had Cali I went to finish up on my accounting job. I had emails and payrolls to finish up before I left. Before I knew it, 5 o’clock was here and I was out the door for my party.
The event was in Minneapolis about 30-45 minutes away. It had been such a crazy day so I was trying to relax and regroup my thoughts on the way to the event. But as I was pulling up to the event my gas light came on! With all the craziness of the day I had forgotten to get gas. And now I was in the city where there were not any gas stations. Ugh!
