Inside is the story of young Peyton celebrating Hanukkah with her family. On the very first night of Hanukkah Peyton wishes for a bear, a friend she can call her own. But on the first night she receives a dreidel, while it was not what she had wished for she still enjoyed her present. The following night she received chocolate coins. And they were oh so yummy! The next few nights were filled with toys and lots of delicious foods but no bear.
On the last night of Hanukkah Peyton wished and wished for a bear of her own. And when she came down the steps, she found a little package wrapped in gold paper. It was very light and soft. And as she unwrapped it she found a little brown bear! Along with her bear was a note. Inside it talked about how kind, caring and sharing she was and that she would make a great friend to Teddy.
I found this book to be sweet and entertaining. My daughter loved the book because her name was scattered throughout the book. And she got a teddy bear at the end of the book! So just like in the story Peyton received her very own Hanukkah bear.
