Bad Moms

Peyton's Momma Screening Pass DiscloureHave you made it out to see Bad Moms? If not, I highly suggest you make some time and do it now! Bad Moms is a hilarious comedy about motherhood and how we, mothers, do way too much. I’ve seen it once but I’m already thinking about going back and seeing it again. It was that good.

Bad MomsAt the start of Bad Moms we meet Amy, Mila Kunis. Amy is a real go getter. She works outside the home, car pools her two kids, makes them breakfast and basically runs the household. She is a mom that does it all. She even attends PTA meeting and dutifully does what is asked of her. Until one day. It was the day from hell. I’m sure all moms can relate.

That night, Amy attends the PTA meeting and just snaps. She can’t take it any longer. She’s overworked, under appreciated and exhausted. When the PTA put a ridiculous demand on the parents Amy snaps. She speaks her mind and walks out of the meeting.

Bad MomsAs Amy is taking a break at local bar in walks Kiki, Kristen Bell. Kiki is a stay at home mom that is under-appreciated and overworked. She found Amy’s actions to be inspiring.  Carla, Kathryn Hahn,  is a single mom, doing it all on her own.  These three ladies bond over the unrealistic expectations placed on mothers over a few drinks.

Bad Moms is hands down the best comedy I’ve seen in a long, long time. I love how when we meet the moms they are letting society pigeon hole them. They are living life dictated by stereotypes. We watch each woman take their power back, set healthy boundaries and become better moms because of it.

Kiki, the once timid and obedient stay at home transforms the most. By the end of Bad Moms she looks put together, speaks up, has set healthy boundaries in her relationships and has confidence.

Amy, the once powerhouse mom doing it all and living the dream has changed too. Her kids now make their own breakfast, she has relaxed and is enjoying life and she runs her career it no longer runs her.

Bad MomsI think the biggest message throughout Bad Moms is about setting our boundaries and valuing ourselves. If we cannot take care of ourselves then we cannot take of others. But while the ladies are learning this lesson they are having the time of their lives!

Ladies, if you are having a girls night out consider seeing Bad Moms. I guarantee you won’t be disappointed!
