We’ve been back in school for a few weeks now and I’m starting to finally get our morning routine down. Every morning when I make my coffee, I make Peyton a beverage too. It can be anything from a hot cider or cocoa to a smoothie. Well, this morning she wanted hot cocoa but she didn’t want it hot. So I decided to make it blended cocoa! Plus I have this new cocoa we are trying out, Tootsie Roll Cocoa K-cups. Doesn’t that just sound fun? I love Tootsie Rolls and we frequently have them around the house. But to be able to enjoy the flavor of Tootsie Rolls in a drink sounds like pure heaven!
To make my blended Tootsie Roll Cocoa you will need the following –
2 k-cups of Tootsie Roll Cocoa
2 Cups Ice
Chocolate Sauce
Whip Cream
You do have to plan a little bit ahead to make this but like only an hour ahead will be fine.
First, I like to take 2 Tootsie Roll Cocoa Kcups and make them with the lowest setting in my Keurig. Then I place the beverage in the freezer to cool.
You cannot skip the cooling step. If you do, your ice will melt instantly and it won’t be a blended drink. You also want to brew on the lowest setting because the ice is going to dilute the cocoa.
Once the cocoa is cool not it’s time to blend.
Place 2 cups of ice in your blender and add the Tootsie Roll cocoa that has been cooling in the freezer.
Blend on high until the ice is crushed.
This is optional but super fun for the kiddos. Take your chocolate sauce and glass, drizzle the chocolate sauce inside the glass.
Place the frozen mixture in the glass.
Top with whipped cream.
Drizzle with chocolate sauce.
Enjoy!
Peyton loved this drink. I know she’ll be asking me to make it often.
